Couponfield is committed to helping independent, local businesses thrive. If your friend
wanted to open a small electronics store, would you encourage him? Or would you worry that
he was immediately going to get crushed by Best Buy and Wal-Mart? If the "big box" trend
continues in retail and consumer services, the idea of opening any independent business may
eventually become a whimsical, ill-omened dream. When you support small, local businesses,
you help avoid that future. You also increase investment in your own community, improving
the quality of life.
That's why we’re proud to support the 3/50 Project, encouraging consumers to pick three local
businesses that they would miss if they closed, and purchase at least $50 in goods or services
from them.
No one is trying to vilify the larger chains; often, they provide convenience and selection
that are hard to pass up. We’re happy to offer their coupons and let the consumers decide. But,
our hope is that by providing online coupons for local businesses, we can make it easier for
consumers to at least provide these independents with some of their spending dollars. It really
won't take a huge percentage of most communities' budgets to keep their options alive.
